OCRA Flyers came away with more medals from the Griffin trampoline competition in Street in Somerset on Sunday.

The busy contest had large classes and competitors from across the South West.

Trampolinists were required to perform one compulsory routine and one voluntary routine, for which they could perform higher difficulty skills. The scores from the two routines were added together to form the total mark.

In her second competition, OCRA Flyer Bethan Honey competed two solid routines in the CDG1 grade to win a bronze medal.

Miya Porter performed two excellent routines in the NDP3 U14 class to come second, narrowly missing first place by 0.1.

Owen Pitman also achieved high scores in the NDP3 14+ class, coming second. Both Mia and Owen completed the highest difficulty voluntary routines in their classes.

Angus Bond’s two excellent routines in the more advanced NDP5 class secured him a bronze medal. 

Angus and Owen then competed in the 14 plus elite synchro event, for which trampolinists perform a compulsory routine on separate trampolines simul-taneously.

They achieved the highest execution scores in the class, with a slight loss of synchronisation halfway through the routine costing them a podium place. They finished fourth.

 OCRA Flyers coach Vicki Pritchard said: ‘We’re really pleased with the results and are now working towards the Bath regionals in October.’

The club is raising money for more advanced equipment and will be running a Bounceathon event over the summer holidays to raise money.

Children, young people and adults will all be welcome to come along to the club and learn tricks on trampolines, trampettes and an inflatable air track. 

The club holds its sessions in the gymnasium at Okehampton College, Mill Road.
