U10s 3

Twyford Spartans U10s 2

OKEHAMPTON Argyle's U10s triumphed in a cup final thriller of the Devon and Exeter plate competition against Twyford Spartans at Exeter city St James Park.

Argyle conceding a sloppy goal after a couple of minutes and soon went 2-0 down after a Twyford forward beat the defence to finish superbly.

But Argyle rallied within minutes — a fine corner from Ryan Quick found Josh Parsons who chested the ball down to fire home. Argyle started to dominate play and soon after Sam Drew found himself unmarked in the box and he cooly steered the ball in the corner of the net. Just before half time another corner again from Quick found Parsons who gave the keeper no chance to make 3-2.

The second half was a tighter affair with the Argyle defence of Levi Ley, Quick, and Harry Laing Taylor in goal solid with Drew, Reuben Bourne, and Jordan Wilson working hard in midfield. Twyford pushed men forward and were unlucky not to get an equaliser when a great shot hit the bar only for oke to clear.

Oke still created chances and as time ebbed away managed to comfortably see out time for a well deserved win. This capped a fine season for the lads and is no more than they deserve.
