OCRA Gymnastics and Trampoline Club had a good day at the Tornadoes competition in Totnes earlier this month coming away with six medals.
For many, it was their first experience of a trampoline competition and for the more seasoned competitors, it was a chance to try out a higher grade.
In their first competition, Alice Smith and Elise Boucher competed the P6 routine with two superb performances to come third and fifth. Cerys Eyre took bronze in the N1 class with a steady performance while in N2 U13, Bethany Watts also achieved a podium place, coming third, with Sophie Wyer coming fifth and Ellie Chapman coming seventh.
In NDP1 U12, Shea Coyle was sixth, and in the NDP1 O12, Faye Pimlott was fifth and Isy Chapman also did well, coming ninth in NDP2.
William Bridges won a silver medal in the NDP3 class, with Owen Pitman coming fifth and Miya Porter tenth.
In the synchronised event, Faye Pimlott and Bethany Watts won a silver medal in the club synchro with two consistent performances. Owen Pitman and Miya Porter were tenth in the regional synchro.
It was a fun day, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. All the performers did well to adjust to the bouncier trampolines, and it proved an encouraging start to the season for trampolinists training for the regionals in Bath at the end of the year.
