Okehampton ladies’ firsts 4
ISCA ladies’ fourths 2
THE home team started putting pressure on from the first whistle and some slick stick skills from Jo Moppett took them into an early lead. This just made ISCA more determined and despite several goal line saves by Elisa Gibb, soon after they found a way though Okehampton’s defence to draw level.
The Oke defence, directed by centre back Sophie Whitely, regrouped and ISCA barely tested keeper Alice Wiseman for the rest of the half. Some quick passing by Laura Parsons, making her debut, saw the ball back on Moppett’s stick who fired it towards goal. A superb touch by Hannah Whiteley and the ball was in the top of the net. At half time the score was 2-1 to Oke.
In the second half their hard work paid off with Whiteley’s second of the game, getting her stick this time onto a Davey cross.
Okehampton kept the pressure on and were rewarded with a series of short corners, but the ISCA defence were solid.
Oke continued passing the ball well though the midfield and once more a thundering cross came in from Moppett; this time is was Annabelle Rademaker, who was unmarked and fired it home to make it 4-1.
ISCA kept the pressure up and they were rewarded with a short corner, which they executed into an unstoppable shot, giving them their second to finish the game 4-2 to Okehampton.
After three games Okehampton are top of league.
