PARKLANDS Leisure Centre in Okehampton has raised more than £1,500 for Marie Curie Cancer in the annual Swimathon 2013.

The leisure centre donated six hours of pool and staff time for the event and a total of eight teams and individuals completed up to 5km (200 lengths).

Jon Smith, contract manager at Parklands Leisure Centre, said: 'Congratulations to all the swimmers who trained so hard to complete their challenge. They should be very proud of their achievements and we're looking forward to finding out the final total.'
