Okehampton U11s 3 tries
Devonport U11s 6 tries
FOR the last home game Okehampton had two games to play, the first being against Plymouth’s finest from Devonport. Oke started strongly and kept the attack at bay with solid defences.
Great tackles coming from all players and engaging carries from Jeremy, Joe and Con. Unfortunately for Oke Robbie sustained a heavy knock to his back when tackling and had to come off. Xavier scored two tries, one from a scrum won by Lucy’s hooking skills. The highlight was Roman’s dissecting run with a bag full of tricks including dodges and weaves, which finished with a pass to Mike for the try.
Okehampton U11s 9 tries
Old Bristolians 5 tries
THE second game was against a touring side from Bristol which quickly became an easier game as Okehampton had the upper hand in the breakdown and space to manoeuvre.
The first half was equal in defence as attack with only one try conceded and four tries scored by the home team.
The hardest try was a five minute battle on the try line with James, player of the match Luka and Ollie all taking a shot and eventually Ollie broke through with a well deserved try. Jeremy had great 10-yard carry slipping several tackles to cross the line.
Mike added to the score with his standard dodge and weave try and Will took the opportunity to add a scrappy try with usual doggedness.
Try scorers for Oke were Xavier 3, Mike 3, Luka 2, Will, Hector, Ollie, Jeremy and Hector. Star player was Luka for his consistent clearing in the ruck and team sprit.
