SWIMMERS from Okehampton Otters swimming and Lifesaving Club took part in the Dartmoor Gala. The event was jointly organised by Okehampton Otters and Tavistock swimming club and has been running for a number year.
Twenty-nine Otters took park against other clubs from around Devon.
The Otters swum magnificently, winning more than 30 medals with two swimmers winning their age group.
Head coach David Dennis said that this was a great opportunity for our less experienced club members to gain some competition know-ledge.
He said: ’They all did better than expected and almost everyone got a personal best time with everyone showing a huge improvement in their technique. Well done to all the Otters who took park.’

Sophie from Okehampton Otters swimming and Lifesaving Club took part in the Devon Championships over three weekends in the last two months.
Showing how far the Otters have come in the last two years under their new coach, Sophie is the first Okehampton Otter in nearly 10 years to take part in the Devon championships. This is where the top swimmers from around the county compete in their age groups.
She took part in six events with three top ten finishes and the other three in the top 20.
Sophie also achieved two regional times and one regional consideration time. This is where the top swimmers from around the south west compete.
Head coach David Dennis said: ‘Sophie did fantastic to get personal best times in all the events she did was wonderful. She was unlucky not to medal in the 50 metres backstroke where she came fourth.
‘This is not only good for Sophie but will give the whole club a massive lift showing everybody that we are moving I the right direction. Well done Sophie.’
