Okehampton Argyle 1
Totnes and Dartington 1
ALTHOUGH Argule had several first team players absent the home side totally dominated this match between two teams sitting comfortably in mid-table.
However Argyle were unable to make the most of the superior possession as Totnes scored an equaliser three minutes from time.
The home side deservedly taken the lead after 25 minutes when Steve Kinsey fired home a well placed knock down from Ed Bradshaw.
Okehampton were comfortable throughout the first half with Toby Gostling and Jake Batizovsky outstanding in midfield and Brad Ausden and Steve Madge lively on the wings. Kinsey and Bradshaw were busy up front, causing the Totnes defence lots of problems but were unable to create many clear scoring opportunities to increase the lead.
The Okehampton defence easily marshalled the Totnes and Dartington few attacking forays and their new keeper Matt McDonough was rarely tested during the match.
Corey Burns, at left back, showed class with a superb display of defending for Oke and distribution of the ball linking well with Ausden on the left.
Okehampton could have doubled their lead early in the second half when Gostling went on a mazy run through the Totnes defence only to see his final touch go narrowly wide.
Argyle continued to dominate possession with most of the play was contained in the visitors' half. The Totnes and Dartington defence was put under sustained pressure but restricted the home side to few chances.
With just three minutes remaining Totnes and Dartington struck the equaliser. On a rare visit into the Oke's half Ben Bowhay fired a low speculative left foot shot from 25 yards which was going wide but a wicked bounce off the surface deflected the ball low inside the post catching McDonough by surprise.
Man of the match was Argyle's Jake Batisovsky.
Temporary manager Ian Mulholland said that while he was satisfied with the all round performance of the team he was disappointed that they did not come away with all three points.
