THE West Devon team riders had great success at South West Youth Games cyclo-cross event.

The West Devon team, made up of 16 riders in school years 4 to 7 took the gold medals at the recent South West Youth Games, beating Teignbridge and South Hams.

The cyclo cross event, which consisted of a skills test and a race, took place at Dawlish Leisure Centre over an undulating course on a very hot day

There were individual wins for Keir Francis and Lydia Stone, a second place for Christopher Francis and bronze medals for Ryan Kingdon, Zara Priday and Orla Maguire

Fifteen of the riders were from Tavistock Wheelers Go Ride, who recently have enjoyed great success in cyclo cross races.
