POLICE are appealing for witnesses of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Renault Clio, which took place at around 7.50pm on Sunday, August 23, on the A386 between Lydford and Mary Tavy.

The 34-year-old driver of the blue Renault Clio hatchback was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene, while two passengers from the car were taken to Derriford Hospital.

It appears that the Clio was travelling southbound and the Vauxhall northbound when the collision took place.

The driver of the silver Vauxhall Astra hatchback was also taken to Derriford with serious injuries. Two children who were in the car suffered only minor injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the blue Renault Clio hatchback prior to the collision.
