A HIDDEN gem of a garden in Spreyton will be opening its gates to the public this weekend as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
Lewis Cottage is surrounded by four acres of informal but beautiful gardens and woods, with a combination of relaxed planting schemes and formal borders.
Built in the 16th century by French Huguenots, the current owners took over an established but overgrown two-acre woodland garden that has expanded over the last 20 years to its current size.
Lewis Cottage will be open on Saturday May 19, Sunday May 20 and Sunday June 10 from noon to 5pm. Admission is £4, children free. There will be home-made teas and light refreshments available.
