SPORTING memories of Okehampton are being added to the town's community archive which held an event at the Ockment Centre on Saturday.

The Okehampton Community Archive is putting together a website documenting memories and people's experiences from 1900 to the present and decided to make sport the theme for its latest exhibition.

There was a display from OCRA (Okehampton Community Recreation Association) and the golf club came along with pictures and anecdotes.

Two or three events are held by the archive each year to encourage people to share memories and build up a picture of Okehampton over the last century.

All these contributions will go towards creating the content for the website.
