A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with head injuries on Sunday, after a single vehicle road traffic collision at Buckland Filleigh.

Fire service appliances from Hatherleigh and Torrington attended and crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the woman from the car, which was on its side in a ditch. Two passengers — both children — had already been released from the vehicle.

Ambulance crews from Bideford and Barnstaple attended the scene. The two children were taken to North Devon District Hospital, while the woman was taken to Derriford Hospital by Air Ambulance.
