HATHERLEIGH Community Centre will play host to an evening of fun and fantastic music on Saturday September 3 as the Steve Tucker All Star Jazz Band take to the stage.
The six-piece band will perform pieces from their extensive repertoire, encompassing different genres, including swing, lindy hop, rock and roll and jive music.
The night is being held to raise funds for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund. ELF trustee John Dalton said: 'It is tremendous that the people of Hatherleigh and West Devon are going to be enjoying an evening of music and entertainment whilst raising money for ELF.
'The charity is very grateful for the support of all involved, in particular Rupert Lascelles, who has been at the forefront of organising this annual event, which has generated over £3,000 over the last couple of years.
'I encourage all to turn up and have a good night out.'
Steve Tucker from the band is also hoping Hatherleigh residents can come along and enjoy the event: 'We invite you to dress to impress, with a spot prize available for the best couple's outfit!
'Local lindy hop, jive teachers and clubs will be on hand to show some classic moves and to demonstrate how to get started or improve. The community centre is a superb venue with a great dance floor with lots of space.'
Tickets, £10 to include a ploughman's supper, are available from the community centre, Hatherleigh Post Office and from the ELF website. Alternatively you can buy them on the door.
