ALL Saints Parish Church is 'looking amazing' for Christmas, thanks to its first ever Christmas tree festival.
The festival from last Friday to Sunday, saw local organisations decorate one of the 15 trees around the church. St John Ambulance, Okehampton and District Twinning Association, Puzzle Tree Praise, Okehampton Cats Protection and Okehampton Lions were among the groups involved.
The church was open for visitors and the festival culminated with a celebratory Christmas service on Sunday.
Marie Endacott, All Saints treasurer and festival organiser, said: 'It was a fabulous weekend. The church is looking amazing for Christmas, with these wonderfully decorated trees. It is nice to have such a mixture of organisations involved.
'The service was wonderful, involving the primary school choir and the church's junior choir, and was a lovely event.
'We are definitely looking to bring the festival back next year. We want to make it even bigger, getting more organisations involved to decorate trees. We are hoping for 20 to 25 trees next Christmas. We want to make this a big event for Okehampton.'
The trees will remain in the church over the Christmas period. The church will hold a traditional Christmas Carols by Candlelight service on Sunday, December 23 at 6pm.
