A DOG rescue charity in Sourton is appealing for donations to help look after a dog looking for a new home.
Blaze came into Dartmoor View Dog Rescue in June 2014 as an unclaimed stray.
In the last few days Blaze had an operation where vets found and removed a tumour from his spleen. The rescue is trying to raise some extra money to cover the cost of Blaze's operation.
Mandy Edwin, from Dartmoor View Dog Rescue, said: 'We are very hopeful that the tumour is benign and Blaze will make a full recovery.
'We need your help to raise extra money to help pay the vet's fees. Every penny counts, so even the smallest amount would be much appreciated.'
The dog rescue is a non-profit organisation with the sole aim of rehoming unwanted and abandoned dogs throughout the South West. It has a strict non-destruct policy, never putting a dog to sleep unless under veterinary advice.
Representatives from the charity will be at Hatherleigh Ruby Market on April 4 where shoppers can discuss their work and the dogs currently looking for loving homes.
