CHARLIE Dore and Julian Littman are appearing at Calstock Arts on Saturday (June 18). Charlie and Julian have been friends since they were aged 16 when they met in drama school and began performing together in bars and folk clubs. Both went on to develop their own successful careers but they have continued playing together.

Julian Littman is guitarist with Steeleye Span, playing with Maddy Prior and Rick Kemp. His acting career includes playing Madonna’s brother in the film Evita and innumerable other roles on stage and small screen.

Charlie has been a very successful song-writer for people such as Tina Turner, Sheena Easton, George Harrison, Celine Dion and Lisa Stansfield. As well as having had her own hit record, she wrote one of Jimmy Nail’s number one hits. She has also starred with Jonathan Pryce and Tim Currie in The Ploughman’s Lunch.

Charlie and Julian played at Glastonbury in 2011 and have made eight albums together. During their live gigs they play an array of guitars, piano, mandolin, harmonium, autoharp and ukulele. Amongst their repertoire is Charlie’s first ever single, Fear of Flying covered by George Harrison.

‘Eclectic, contemporary folk’ is how they describe their music. Go along to listen to two very experienced performers.
