EXCITING five piece psychedelic/ pop/ rock band The Honeypot, from Devon, are playing a small tour of dates to promote the release of their second album Inside The Whale, including the Jubilee Hall in Chagford tomorrow (Friday).

The group, which has been together for four years has recently received a 4* review in The Record Collector for their new album —one more than Elton John got for his!

They are blessed with having the support of two successful independent record labels, Mega Dodo and Fruits De Mer. Owner of Mega Dodo John Blaney has a number of artists on his label, both new and from the 60s and 70s and releases works on CD and/ or vinyl as well as downloads.

With a lead guitarist, two keyboardists, bass guitarist and drummer, both the live and recorded sound of The Honeypot is described as intricate and beautiful.

Lovers of 60s style psychedelia will appreciate the gorgeous melodies, lyrics and harmonies along with breathtaking solos from the talented musicians.

The band’s work has been played on BBC Radio Devon, BBC 6 Radio and many independent stations. The band’s catch-phrase is ‘new music for those who were there’, which summarises their wish to provide up to date songs for the maturing listeners who perhaps feel that the modern music on offer is not for them.

DJ Marrs Bonfire from Bay FM Exmouth 106.4 will also be featuring at the event.
