A BEER festival held in Sampford Courtenay has helped to fill the coffers of two worthy charities.

The New Inn landlord Malcolm Whybrow and his daughter Holly (second left) recently presented cheques for £1,000 to Exeter Leukaemia Fund and the Cots for Tots charity at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol.

The pub held a beer festival back in May to raise the funds, which were collected by Eleanor Brown (right) of ELF and Sadie Coventry from Cots for Tots.

Two hundred pounds of the total was donated by the village hall, and a further £100 was given by local business Last Minute Cottages.
