THERE were some wonderful wacky characters dashing around Okehampton's pubs last Friday — it was all part of the Round Table's five-legged race in aid of the Children in Need appeal.

Among those stepping out were the 'Pink Beauties' team, pictured right.

Teams of four were tied at the ankle and raced around the pubs in the town, having to consume a drink at each. Bottles of cava, donated by Waitrose were given as prizes for various categories, including best fancy dress.

The event raising more than £1,200.
