A BOOK of colourful tales and characters has been launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of a fishery in Halwill.

Angler's Paradise: 25 Years of the 5 Cs has been published to commemorate 25 years since Zyg and Zenia Gregorek took over the fishery. The book of stories commemorates the lakes, fish, fishermen and history of Angler's Paradise, with fishers such as Peter Mohan, Rod Hutchinson and Keith Arthur making contributions that feature both funny and inspiring stories.

Many of the authors were in person at the fishery to celebrate the book's launch on earlier this month.

As well as the standard edition, there are 50 limited edition leather bound copies of the book, finished with gold-tooling detail and presented in a marble paper covered slipcase. All proceeds from the book will be donated to charity.

During the launch celebrations, Zyg and Zenia donated £4,900 to local charities. The fishery has been raising money for charity since June. The Devon Air Ambulance Trust received £1,500, TorrAGE received £1,000, and both Okehampton and Holsworthy foodbanks received £1,200 each to add to the Jubilee donations earlier this year.
