MONTHLY twilight sessions with a trained Citizen Advice Bureau advisor will now be available at Okehampton Area Children's Centre.
The sessions are designed for parents with children under 5 to have time with a CAB advisor trained on all subjects, including benefits and housing, in addition to access to the internet for job and training searches.
Centre leader Chris Parsons said: 'We currently have CAB attending our various sessions on a weekly basis which are proving very successful in resolving a variety of issues. We want to extend this opportunity to as many of our parents as possible to have access to the tremendous resources that CAB has to offer at this difficult time.'
Devon County Council's lead member for children, Cllr Andrea Davis said: 'Our investment in children's centres underpins our commitment to providing families with information and access to a variety of training and advice, which will help them gain access to employment opportunities.
'We're really pleased to be working with partners such as the CAB to provide specialist advice that meets the needs of the communities they serve.'
The first session will run from 4pm to 6pm on Monday January 16 at the centre, which is based in the community wing of Okehampton College. For more information call the centre on 01837 658621.
