THE STOLEN Sticklepath Pram Race winning vehicle has been recovered, damaged but repairable, its owners this week reported.
The red racing car went missing from the Devonshire Inn car park in Sticklepath hours after it won the race on October 3.
It was the winning entry by the Boy Racers team, which has taken the top prize for the last ten years.
Team member James Canham said at the time that the theft had put a dampener on the event which was raising money for charity.
A search of the area was made but nothing was found.
But Mr Canham confirmed this week that following the article in the Times last Thursday, he received a phone call telling him the whereabouts of the pram.
'It was recovered in the car park of the Taw River pub in Sticklepath.
'It was quite badly damaged but it is being fixed up and hopefully will be OK again for next year.
'We don't know if it was deliberate sabotage or it's down to messing about.
'Anyway its thanks to the Oke Times that we got it back.'
The pram race, a big tradition in Sticklepath, involves decorated prams in every shape and size, racing around the villages of Sticklepath and South Zeal, raising large amounts for charity.
