A UGANDAN choir brought colourful African music to Shebbear College on a recent visit.
The Pearl of Africa Children's Choir is touring the UK giving performances in schools and at private events to help raise awareness and improve the health, education and welfare of people suffering through disease, war and poverty in Uganda.
The choir managed to squeeze a visit to the college in its busy schedule, spending the whole day giving workshops with college students and pupils at the junior school and kindergarten.
The experience taught youngsters about the colourful traditional clothing, music and culture of Uganda.
They got an insight into a typical Ugandan school day, learnt how to count and sing in Ugandan, and were shown dance moves before taking part in some routines themselves.
At the end of the day, the choir performed a short concert for staff and college students.
