THE REFURBISHED church bells at All Saints Church, Merton, will be re-dedicated at the harvest service on Sunday (October 10.)

The bells, which were stolen while they were being repaired at a workshop in Tavistock and were eventually found in Manchester outside a scrapyard, will be re-dedicated by Bishop Bob Evens, of Crediton, at 10.30am.

Now completely repaired, the bells will be rung by resident and visiting teams and if anyone would like to join in they should contact bell captain Chris Laughton on 01805 603658.

The service will be a celebration of harvest and of all the hard work put into fundraising to get the bells repaired. Everyone will be most welcome at this service.

For more details on the service contact the vicar, the Rev Martin Warren, on 01409 281424.

There will be an ongoing fundraising campaign to buy new bell ropes in the future.
