THE Belstone and Area Friends of the Children's Hospice South West are time-travelling back to 1940 for their latest fundraising activity this weekend.

With the help of Merrifield Productions and the sponsorship of the Torquay Lions' Club, they will be transforming Belstone Village Hall, when they host One Night in 1940.

Guests will be whisked back to a social evening in a village hall in mid 1940, where they will eat the food of the time, modern versions, dance to the music, meet the home guard, land girls, ARP officers, armed forces personnel and villagers.

The show is suitable for all ages from nine to 90+.

There are also still a few outfits available for hire, which are free of charge, although period costume is not compulsory.

The play will be held on Saturday from 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children.

To book tickets or costumes phone Angela on 01837 840234 or Edwina on 01837 840332.
