AIR cadets from Okehampton’s 2443 Squadron have come home with a clutch of medals from Plymouth and Cornwall Wing Annual Athletics Day in Par in Cornwall.

With a team of just 16, the cadets managed to secure four gold medals, 12 silver medals and three bronze medals.

‘Those cadets who didn’t manage to get a medal nevertheless showed a determination to do well and should be highly commended,’ said Flight Sergeant Dave Wilkinson.

The cadets, pictured, wore sportswear created specifically for the squadron, purchased using funds raised at a bag pack hosted by Waitrose in the town back in July 2016.
