THE persistent efforts of Okehampton midfielders Alex Collins, Louise Weller and Jane Jones to drive the ball forward gave Jo Moppett and Tara Davidson several attacks on goal.

Ottery defended strongly but they remained undeterred and their efforts paid off, as Jo Moppett sliced the ball past the goalie to score the first goal.

Ottery fought back but tight marking, good communication and determination by Carol Taylor, Jo Drake and Sandra Douglas ensured that goalie Viv Weatherington had little to do.

Carol Taylor quickly defended a short corner fed the ball up the pitch to Tara Davidson who speedily passed it Jo Moppett to scored the second and make it 2-0 to Oke at half time.

Returning from the interval Okehampton looked build their lead. Kim Davey, on the right wing, narrowly miss scoring on several occasions while Jo Moppett hit the ball across the goal mouth before Winnie Radamaker seized the opportunity to make it 3-0.

Ottery fought back and skilful interceptions by Alex Collins and Carol Taylor kept the ball away from the Okehampton defence but the visitors eventually found the net. Several minutes later, they scored again. Okehampton increased the pace and teamwork paid off as Jo Moppett scored to make it 5-2.

The match was a fast pace and an enjoyable game helped by good umpiring.
