FRIDAY October 23 was ‘Wear it Pink’ Day at Torridge District Council — and staff donned their pink clothes and baked pink cakes to raise £300 for ‘Breast Cancer Now’.

Council leader Jane Whittaker said: ‘Torridge’s officers have a great track record of raising money for worthy causes.

‘In these austere times, when we have fewer officers doing more and more work, it is tremendous to see staff from across the Council taking part in these events.’

Breast?Cancer Now is Britain’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast?Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast?Cancer.
