OKEHAMPTON Town Council's website is to get an overhaul to make it more user-friendly and up to date.
At its latest policy and resources meeting, the council agreed to pay a professional website designer to update the page to make it more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use. The site had previously been updated by a volunteer.
As part of the update, council staff will be taught how to keep the site updated with relevant council news and agendas.
Cllr Maureen McDonald said: 'Having tried to look at the site it is something of a mess. We need to return it to a professional person to keep it updated.'
Cllr Tony Leech said: 'We have to have it run on a professional basis, preferably someone local. We should do a proper tender and try to get someone local to put it together.'
