FORMER Hatherleigh mayor and West Devon councillor Denise Herrod-Taylor was remembered at an uplifting memorial service in Hatherleigh last Saturday week.

Her family expressed thanks to all who attended the service and made it such a positive occasion.

As a result of their generosity a considerable sum was raised for her favourite charities; £180 for Send a Cow; £140 for the parish church and £120 for the Stroke Association.

Mrs Herrod-Taylor died, aged 86, and was cremated at a private family service in Exeter.
