THE Okehampton Community Recreation Association Sportsweek five-a-side was again this year greatly supported with teams gathering from all over Devon.

The men's competition attracted 25 teams and the women's competition 10 teams.

Stuart Lord from OCRA said: 'The standard of play was excellent and games were played in a friendly festival atmosphere.'

The women's winners led by local girl Siobhan Aslett were the Under Cover Lovers from Exeter  in a close fought final with Sue Hammond's Tavistock team.

The men's final between South Zeal and an Okehampton team, the Wasaki Dragons produced a flowing eight goals thriller and some cracking goals from Darren Gilbert (South Zeal) and Colin Marshall (Wasaki Dragons).

Wasaki Dragons led by Paul Yip emerged triumphant to lift the trophy with a 5-3 victory.
