ON Saturday (March 5) author Rebecca Alexander, writer of urban and historical fantasy, will be running three creative writing workshop taster sessions at Okehampton Library. Recent experience in writing is not necessary, just an enjoyment of stories!.

There will be a workshop on writing short stories and flash fiction, writing poetry and writing children’s fiction.

Devon historian Paul Rendell from South Zeal will be at the library

next Wednesday (March 9), at 7pm, presenting for the first time his brand new talk ‘Tales of 100 miles Walking Across Dartmoor’ about the Pack Pony Challenge that he undertook recently following in the footsteps of the moor-men of yesteryear. It was a tough challenge but a great achievement by the ponies, the dogs and the people that accompanied him.
