OFFICE workers from Evolve Care Group, who provide central support for the award-winning Hatherleigh Nursing Home, recently handed out over £500 worth of food supplies and sleeping bags to the homeless.
The commercial director of Evolve Care Group, Sian Harris, said: ‘We provide care for the elderly in our state of the art nursing homes. Unfortunately, many older people are not so lucky and are forced to sleep on the streets. As a socially responsible company, we are delighted to try and help them.’
The food supplies and sleeping bags given out by Evolve Care Group has managed to help many people currently living in the South West without a home.
Workers from Evolve Care Group are given an annual charity budget of £100,000 to support local causes. This winter they chose to spend some of their budget on food, blankets, socks and sleeping bags.
Over 20 members of the central support team switched off their computers early in the group’s main office and handed out the supplies to people on the streets.
