A PUB toilet in Sourton has earned the pub a nomination for a national award — while raising money for charity. Landlady Sally Thomson, of the Highwayman Inn, has transformed her archaic loo, a vestige from the 1950s, into a veritable art deco delight. With a little help from her friends Bert and Phil from The Monkey Gland Blues Band, who did the plumbing and building work respectively, the ladies' toilet is now a contender for the prestigious Best Pub Loo Award 2014. In addition to this Sally is also raising money for Devon Air Ambulance by charging £1 for her male clients to use it. Sally said: 'Ladies can wee for free but for the chaps it is £1 a pee for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. 'I wanted to create a nice loo for the girls that was both theatrical and a little decadent. I think with a little help from my friends we have achieved that. I wll have to do the gents next!'
