A MAN from Sticklepath is taking on the challenge of a lifetime, cycling from Exeter to Paris in aid of Hospiscare. Leif Tarry and his best friend Dave Clift, who lives in Taunton, will complete the challenge to make as much money as possible for the charity. Over the last five years, the hospice in Exeter and its staff have played a large part in the lives of both Leif and Dave. The hospice provided comfort, dignity and support to Leif's father in the latter stages of his life, and similarly to Dave's partner Claire, who died in 2013. Leif's partner Mary Hughes said: 'The two love a challenge and this is certainly one. They have been working and training so hard in order to raise as much money as they can for this amazing and worthwhile charity, which has either touched or undoubtedly will touch each and every one of us as a result of cancer. 'There can never be enough money raised for the hospice, but every single penny counts.' The duo have a Facebook page, 'Leifanddave Exeter to Paris', a Just Giving page, at http://www.justgiving.com/teams/LandD">www.justgiving.com/teams/LandD and also a Twitter account @ParisLeifDave. They are also fundraising in Okehampton, with a charity cycle and cake. sale at Luxtons on Saturday and a cake sale at Parklands in early May.
