A WEST Devon photographer is holding a solo exhibition of her work for the very first time – in Okehampton. Louise Harrod has recently moved to Tavistock, and Okehampton's Museum of Dartmoor Life is hosting an exhibition of her work, 'Moor to Shore' in the John Young Gallery until May 1. The photographs cover a variety of vistas and landscapes, from Cotehele House and Quay and the Tamar Valley to the tors of Dartmoor and the region's dramatic coastline. It is her first solo exhibition, though she has had work displayed in various joint exhibitions and galleries, including a gallery on the Barbican in Plymouth. Louise said: 'It is a hobby that has just grown and grown. 'I wanted to do more, and then I have got to this point where I wanted to do an exhibition of my own. 'This is a fabulous, lovely space for an exhibition such as this. It is a light, wonderful space and it is a joy to display my work here.' The museum's manager Andrew Thompson said he was really pleased to have the exhibition of photographs at the museum and expects the photographs to prove popular. Prints of Louise's work are available both at the exhibition and in the museum shop.
