MARTIAL artist George Nye, aged 12, from North Tawton has won a place on the WTKA England kickboxing team.
The Okehampton College student earned his call up with a 10-1 points win in the higher weight category than his 40kg one. The fight was stopped after one min after three great head kicks in a two minute round by George beating his opponent in the 47 kg.
George has now won a place on the England team to fight in the World Martial Arts Championship in Pisa Italy in October.
It is his second world championship winning a silver medal at last years WKC World Championships in Portugal. George will be heading up to Manchester on Sunday to try and win a place on the WKC Kickboxing England squad who he represented last year.
