THE MP for Central Devon got his skates on during a recent visit to Hatherleigh — as he visited the town's skate park. Mr Stride visited the facility with Brad Horn and Claire Tyson, who were involved with the skate park development, towards the end of the school summer holidays. He said: 'Although this facility officially opened on December 23, 2013, the team has continued on its endeavours to finish the drainage and landscaping of the surrounding area. 'It's great to see what a focused local community can achieve and also the many youngsters thoroughly enjoying using this superb facility.' The team behind the project fundraised for over a year, and with a grant of £50,000 from Sport England's Inspired Facilities fund, the team managed to raise £84,000 to get the project off the ground.
