‘We are passionate about using the power of creativity to support people who are challenged by health and social circumstances. Get Changed is very excited to announce our new project for 2019, we are pleased to receive funding from the Arts Council to enable us to develop Stepping Out.
‘This project will be supporting our group of 24 adults with a learning disability to work along professional artists to develop an original piece of theatre.
‘We will be showcasing our new performance at the Plough in Torrington in May with all our group and trialling new work with a smaller cast of six participants, which will be performed in local venues.
‘The funding for Stepping Out will in addition to regular weekly workshops, support a number of new artists working in small groups and one to one tuition with our participants.
‘This will also enable us to recruit and train local emerging artists to develop their skills and confidence in working with adults with a learning disability.’
Get Changed is a theatre group for adults with learning disabilities from the West and Mid Devon areas.
