RHS Garden Rosemoor is looking for ten keen gardeners to take part in an informative and practical allotment course next year.

Starting in February, the successful candidates will receive expert RHS tuition, have their own plot to tend, and take away home-grown harvests.

They will receive two-hour allotment master classes each month and weekly access to their plots, all in the picturesque setting of Rosemoor.

Peter Earl, course leader at the gardens, said: 'Our first-class facilities and expert guidance mean this is a great opportunity for novice vegetable growers, and we are very pleased to be able to extend this offer again to our local communities.'

The 'Class of 2013' came from a great variety of backgrounds and across all age groups but they had one thing in common – the passion for and a willingness to learn the basic principles of growing your own vegetables.

The course runs from February to October 2014. Applications close November 29.
