OKEHAMPTON hosted its inaugural cyclo cross event on July 30.

The Hairy Hands Summer Cyclo Cross was held at OCRA Pavilion in Simmons Park andwas organised by Tavistock Wheelers and Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA). The event attracted both experienced riders and children trying out the sport for the first time.

Cyclo-cross is a form of off-road racing that predates mountain biking by decades and is also one of the most accessible forms of cycle sport with racing for everyone from young kids to grandmothers.

The South West Cyclo-Cross League begins in September.
