THE harvest auction at Winkleigh Church last autumn could result in a new fruit orchard for Made Well near Hatherleigh.

The Made-Well project runs a community food growing project which provides training, support and employment opportunities for disadvantaged or marginalised members of society. The project aims to encourage participation by people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Winkleigh Church's harvest auction raised £200 which was donated to the project.

Susan Howard from Made Well said: 'We have not quite decided what the money will be out towards — either vital new equipment or a new fruit orchard.

'Either way, we are very appreciative of the donation, and it will benefit everyone at Made Well.'

Rev Peter Norman and his family recently visited Made Well at their home at West Fishleigh Farm to present a cheque to manager of Made Well Liz Gard.
