THE harvest festival is now here and Fairplace Church is marking the celebrations in Okehampton with a special weekend.

Starting on Saturday, the church will be open from 10am to 4pm for everyone to view the decorations and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

Then on Sunday at 10.30am there will be a family service led by Barry Searle.

At 6.30pm there will be a special 'Songs of Praise' for harvest with seasonal hymns and music to which everyone is invited.

On Monday, September 20 at 6pm there is the harvest supper followed by the sale of produce.

Ann Holland from Okehampton, on behalf of the church, said: 'This is always a good meal with plenty of good company and lots of fun.

'Tickets for the meal are available in the church shop in the arcade.'
