'Poop poop!' was the cry ringing out from MacCullock's Garage last weekend as the showroom had some interesting visitors last Saturday.

The cast of 'The Adventures of Mr Toad', the latest offering by Transitions Theatre Company, visited the Okehampton firm so Mr Toad and friends could get behind the wheel of a 1920 AC Tourer, which has taken pride of place in the garage's window throughout the festive period.

The theatre company is putting on a touring production of the play, a fun-filled musical by Piers Chater Robinson. Directed by Okehampton-based Rob Pudner, a number of actors from the Okehampton area will portray the characters from A A Milne's cherished tale The Wind in the Willows.

The show tour kicks off with a performance at Bow Village Hall this Saturday, January 19.

Rob Pudner said: 'Transitions have a busy spring and summer ahead, with outdoor performances at many venues across the South West, including RHS Rosemoor, Roadford Lake and Wheal Martyn.

'We are doing a couple of performances this side of Easter to help raise funds for local organisations and charities. The proceeds from the performance at Bow on January 19 will support four local organisations with tickets available from each one direct.

'So why not make a date with Mr Toad, his riverside chums Rat, Badger and Mole and a host of other colourful characters for some jolly japes and silly scrapes, suitable for the whole family?'

Tickets for the performance in Bow are available directly from the four organisations to benefit from the event: The Heart of Devon on 01363 82379, Bow Village Hall on 01363 82950, Friends of Bow School on 01363 82379 and Bow AAC on 01363 82774.

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £6 for children with doors opening at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. Refreshments are available and there is a licensed bar.

Rob Pudner and the Transitions team expressed their thanks to MacCullock's Garage and Colin Dunn for allowing them to visit the car in the garage showroom.
