OKEHAMPTON fundraisers are invited to wave their wands and don their fairy wings in aid of vulnerable children.
Okehampton Children's Centre is taking part in the Barnardo's Big Toddle, the sponsored walk for under 5s.
The centre is inviting local groups to join the fun during its own mass march around Simmons Park on Friday, June 28, from 10.30am. The toddle will be followed by a 'bring your own' picnic.
Barnardo's project administrator Wendy Mills-Hicks said: 'This year we're highlighting the world of fantasy and make-believe so that children can have even more fun dressing up and bringing to life their favourite fairy stories.
'We hope to be joined by parents, childminders, playgroups and nurseries. It will be a great opportunity for people to have some fun and make new friends. They'll also be able to learn more about how we can help their children to achieve their potential.'
For further information, call the centre on 01837 658621.
Supporters are welcome to arrange their own Toddle at any time throughout the year. Registrants receive a special pack, including activity sheets, posters, magnetic rosettes and stickers.
Supporters can keep up to 25% of the money raised for their own group or good cause, although many groups donate all of the money to support vulnerable children in Barnardo's projects.
