The self-named MAMILS (middle-aged men in Lycra) took a short stop in their home village of Lifton last week during their charity John O’Groats to Land’s End cycle ride, which they completed on Saturday.
The Lifton bikers — Malcolm Bird, Luke Harris, Alastair Batten, Paul Arscott, Martin Vanstone, Paul Davies, Mike Wood, Adam Pengelly and support driver Nick Horler — cycled the thousand miles to raise money and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in honour of their friend Jeremy Durrant who suffers with the disease.
The team members were able to stay in their own beds when they stopped off in Lifton on Wednesday evening and set off the next day from Lifton Primary School surrounded by friends, family and supporters.
