THE team at Made-Well near Hatherleigh are celebrating after a successful open day on April 7.
The project provides a range of constructive, purposeful and positive ‘day opportunities’ for its clients, designed to promote personal growth by providing activities in leisure and life learning skills.
Clients learn about horticulture, cookery, animal care, willow craft, therapeutic arts and countryside management as they help to run the dedicated horticulture site. The project is an inclusive organisation with an ethos of encouraging full participation irrespective of age, background, qualifications, training or ability.
During the open day, visitors were able to have a go and join in with all the activities on offer including woodwork, gardening, pottery, computers, arts and crafts, a bake off, petting animals and much more.
Laura Feaver, inclusion officer at Made-Well said: ‘It was great to network with so many people and showcase all the things Made-Well has to offer not only to attendees but also the wider community.
‘We were blown away with the amount of people who came to enjoy the day and support us. We are really beginning to form relationships with the surrounding communities. The day would not of happened without the hard work and dedication of our attendees and staff; an amazing team effort.’
