THE people of Inwardleigh parish are to resurrect last year's party spirit at this year's country fair in Folly Gate.
Last year, some residents from Inwardleigh and Folly Gate formed a committee to hold a fair, to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and a tug of war competition.
Proceeds from the fair and other fundraisers went to Oke Chapel, Inwardleigh Church and Folly Gate Village Hall, and also paid for a children's Christmas party.
Money left over was put into an account, and Inwardleigh and Folly Gate Fundraising Committee was born.
This year the committee is holding another village fair on Saturday, June 22 to help recapture the community spirit inspired by the jubilee and the London Olympics.
The fair, taking place at Higher Railpark in Folly Gate, will have a fun dog show, ferret racing, rides for children, refreshments and more.
The committee welcomes entries for the craft tent, cookery section, tug of war contest, dog show, historic vehicles and stalls.
