NOVEMBER has been a busy month for Hatherleigh Silver Band — and members are gearing up for an even busier December.
On Sunday November 9 Hatherleigh Silver Band led the Remembrance parade through the town, with the Last Post and Reveille being excellently played by cornet player Andrew Collier. Four other cornet players performed the Last Post at different churches throughout the area.
After much preparation, the band took part in the annual South West Brass Band Association contest in Torquay on November 15.
They played Alan Fernie's Anglian Dances and gained fifth place in a large class of quality players.
The Training Band had a productive visit to Somerfield store in Okehampton where they packed bags of groceries for customers at the till points. They raised £254 to help finance their forthcoming trip to the pantomime in Plymouth.
